Medication Assisted Treatment Best Practices
Substance Use Disorders (SUDs) are considered disabilities unders Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the American's with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act. Denying admission to a potential resident based solely on their use of medications as legally prescribed by a qualitied physician for a disability including medications for SUD would be a potential violation of state law (RSA 172-B:2), the ADA and other federal law.
